Sweat offers multiple types of Strength classes so members have many options to choose from. Whether you are interested in building muscle or just wanting to tone up we have a class for you!
Circuit Training: Our traditional circuit training classes are one-hour in length and performed with a trainers supervision to ensure your form is correct. Our Circuit training involves endurance training, resistance training, and high-intensity interval training, with all exercises performed in a circuit. Our circuit training targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise "circuit" is one completion of all set exercises in the program. We use a timer for the work and rest portion of the circuit. Each exercise is demonstrated by the trainer at the start of class and the trainer will make form corrections as needed throughout the class. The work and rest portions of fairly quick and the class moves quickly. This class is good for all levels of fitness
Pure Strength: Pure strength is a formatted, small class focused on developing top-end strength in a safe, form-focused environment. Participants will be paired in groups of two, according to similar strength levels, and will focus on both heavy, strength-focused work and complimentary mobility-focused movements. We will warm up, work, and then finish with intense interval work focused on peak (Zone 7) conditioning. The goal of this class is not to bulk, it is not to build muscular or cardiovascular endurance, and it is not to build anaerobic endurance. The goal of this class is to build strength. Musculoskeletal strength. Healthy, pure strength cannot be separated from healthy mobility. There are a ton of benefits of strength training, ranging from hormonal regulation, improved glucose tolerance, stronger bones and a reduced risk of osteoporosis, to better fat burning and metabolism, to just plain old feeling and looking better. You’ll notice benefits in the hot room and in the cycle room, in work and in play. We will have a ton of fun, we will safely push our limits, and we will build pure strength together! This is a 75 minute class and is best suited for individuals that have some strength training background.
Group Lift: Group lift is a small class that focuses full body toning. The goal of this class is to build muscular endurance. Each participant will have a weight bench and pick the size of weight they want for class. Participants will work all muscle groups in this one hour strength training class. Be prepared to sweat your butt off! This class is good for all levels of fitness.
